The ProMosaic™ II Diversity/Inclusion Assessment Tool focuses on those activities proven effective in making diversity and inclusion initiatives successful. It describes important areas of concentration and critical behaviors and activities. The assessment tool is divided into four components research has determined to be critical for success in internalizing diversity, and each component has a specific weighting with Execution and Business Results emphasized:
The scoring of the ProMosaic™ II Diversity/Inclusion Assessment Tool is the most critical part of the assessment process. As mentioned earlier, this tool is to be used for internal evaluation. Although the scoring process is challenging, it is the key to providing your organization with an assessment that has substantive value. This value will emerge from your identification of effective strategies, processes, activities or desired results or their absence. Therefore, we suggest that you err on the side of caution. Stay objective in your assessment of each component. Each component and its assessment relate to at least one other component, so ask yourself if each assessment is consistent with other assessments and information that affect the question under consideration. Is there documentation or data to support your assessment? The scoring process for our four components - Leadership and Business Rationale, Strategic Planning, Execution, and Results and Measurements - is simple. Each component is accompanied by a series of questions about strategies, plans, and activities that are critical for internalizing diversity and inclusion in organizations. Each question may have multiple assessment indicators; however, each question in a component will receive an overall score of 0 to 5. Review and consider each question in its entirety prior to awarding points.
