ProMosaic™ II, The Diversity/Inclusion Assessment Tool, represents the latest version of the ProMosaic™ Diversity Assessment Tool originally published by the Executive Leadership Council in 2000. Like the initial tool, ProMosaic™ II is a premier product designed to help organizations assess the effectiveness of their diversity and inclusion initiatives. Five years of development have been invested in the new, expanded ProMosaic™ II Tool, with guidance and advice from Fortune 500 senior leaders and diversity practitioners making it a comprehensive evaluative tool. The identification of concepts and key business processes critical to the successful development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives have been identified and vetted by organizations. One of the key differences between the initial tool and ProMosaic™ II is the addition of the concept of inclusion. "Diversity" refers to representation and all the ways, both visible and invisible, in which people are different and alike. "Inclusion" refers to creating an environment where diversity is valued and where all employees actually participate in the key opportunities and decision making activities of the organization. Using the tool will help your organization:
Although we have tried to use generic terms, you may find it necessary to substitute terms relevant to your organization. As with any tool, the value of ProMosaic™ II relates directly to your organization's culture and environment. While you should remain objective in your assessments and scoring, we suggest that you answer the questions with a critical eye, using notes and other supporting documentation. After completing the assessment, consult with diversity and inclusion professionals familiar with your organization to develop and implement action plans. All information and data remain confidential to your organization. Congratulations on taking the first step towards success in achieving diversity and inclusion.
